Frequently Asked Questions about Skin Tags:
What are skin tags?
Skin tags or acrochordans, are small benign tags of skin that may have a stalk (a peduncle). Skin tags may appear on the skin almost anywhere, although the most common locations are on the eyelids, the neck, the armpits (axillae), upper chest and/or groin. There appears to be a hereditary predisposition to developing skin tags. Also, for unknown reasons, women are more likely to develop skin tags than men. Skin tags generally appear after the age of 20, although newborns occasionally will develop skin tags. These unnecessary benign lesions can be easily and painlessly removed without scarring, by a member of the staff of Aesthetic Dermatology. Why wait? Schedule your treatment today!
